CircuitsHotelsExcursions
Florianópolis, capital of Santa Catarina, spreads across an island and mainland in Brazil's south, with more than forty beaches ranging from calm bays to Atlantic surf. It combines beach resorts, lagoon-side dining around Lagoa da Conceição and a mild, European-influenced regional culture. A leading domestic summer destination, it also draws Argentine and regional visitors and works as a southern beach base distinct from the tropical Northeast.
Southern-hemisphere seasonality is pronounced. Summer (December–March) is warm, sunny and busy, the prime beach window and peak season. Spring and autumn are pleasant and quieter, while winter (June–August) is cool and better suited to touring than swimming.
MICE & groups
Florianópolis handles incentives and mid-sized congresses, with a convention centre (CentroSul) and resort hotels concentrated on the north of the island. It suits incentive groups and regional conventions, particularly outside the crowded high summer.
Incentives
Signature rewards include beach-club days at Jurerê Internacional, boat trips to Santo Antônio de Lisboa and island beaches, seafood and oyster tastings, and surf or sailing sessions. The island setting supports relaxed, active incentive programmes.
Access & logistics
Hercílio Luz International (FLN) connects mainly through São Paulo, Rio and other Brazilian hubs, with regional international flights including seasonal Argentine services. The airport sits on the island, roughly 12–15 km from the main beach zones, with transfers of 30–50 minutes depending on the resort.
Trade notes
Two to four nights suit a beach stay. Florianópolis anchors southern Brazil itineraries and combines with Iguaçu and the Serra Gaúcha wine country. Strongest fit for Argentine, southern-cone and domestic markets, with summer as the key season.
