A group programme based in Rio de Janeiro, the 'Marvellous City', where green hills, the turquoise sea and the beaches of Copacabana meet the life of the carioca.
The itinerary pairs the city's essential excursions — the cog train up Corcovado to Christ the Redeemer through the Tijuca rainforest, the historic centre with the Arches of Lapa, the Selarón Steps, the Municipal Theatre and the Cathedral, the Cidade do Samba, the cable-car ascent of Sugarloaf and a visit to a favela in the southern zone — and closes with a full boat day around the tropical islands of Angra dos Reis. The programme is quoted for a group of a minimum of 20 participants.

Day-by-day itinerary
Day 1: Arrival in Rio de Janeiro
Arrival in Rio de Janeiro. Your driver transfers you from the airport to the hotel, passing the colonial-style buildings and the world-famous beachfront. A stroll along the mosaic sidewalks of Copacabana reveals the daily life of the carioca. In the evening, welcome dinner at Marius Degustare, a seafood restaurant designed in the style of a sunken ship.
Day 2: Corcovado, Historic Centre and Cidade do Samba
After breakfast, excursion to Corcovado. A cog train climbs through the Tijuca rainforest to the summit at 700 m, where the 38 m statue of Christ the Redeemer stands above a panoramic view over Guanabara Bay, the Maracanã stadium, Sugarloaf, Copacabana, Ipanema and Gávea. Lunch at a local restaurant. Next, the historic centre: the Arches of Lapa, built in 1732 as an aqueduct; the Selarón Steps, covered in mosaics from around the world; the Municipal Theatre, inspired by the Paris Opera House; and Rio Cathedral. Visit to the Cidade do Samba, the complex of warehouses where the samba schools build and store the parade floats and costumes; an exhibition hall on the history of samba and Carnival, trying on a costume for photos, basic samba steps and a caipirinha. Dinner at the hotel.
Day 3: Sugarloaf and a favela visit
After breakfast, excursion to Sugarloaf. A cable car rises to Urca Mountain and on to the summit of Sugarloaf, with views over Copacabana, Red Beach (Praia Vermelha), Guanabara Bay, the Niterói bridge and the Botafogo and central districts, with Christ the Redeemer in the distance. Lunch at a local restaurant. Next, a visit to a favela in the city's southern zone: a walk through its streets, shops and bars, with a first-hand account of life inside the favela. Dinner at the hotel.
Day 4: Tropical islands of Angra dos Reis
Early in the morning, departure for the Angra dos Reis region, about 2.5 hours from Rio. On arrival, a boat trip among tropical islands along the Costa Verde, with turquoise waters and countless islands scattered across the bay. During the cruise there are several stops at beaches for swimming and snorkelling. A light catering service on board is included. Full-day tour (10 hours). Dinner at the hotel.
