Cusco Cusco Cusco, the former Inca capital, is the hinge of every southern-Peru program and the staging point for Machu Picchu. Its Spanish-colonial core built on Inca foundations, the San Blas quarter and nearby sites such as Sacsayhuamán give a full day of touring before travellers move down into the Sacred Valley. Machu Picchu Machu Picchu Machu Picchu, the fifteenth-century Inca citadel, is the climax of almost every southern-Peru program and one of the most recognised cultural icons in the world. It is visited from Cusco or the Sacred Valley by train to Aguas Calientes and a final bus ascent. Lima Lima Lima, Peru's capital and the country's principal air gateway, is the starting point for almost every program heading into the southern Andes. It concentrates international connectivity, a broad hotel base and a globally recognised dining scene, with landmark restaurants across Miraflores, Barranco and San Isidro. Valle Sagrado Valle Sagrado The Sacred Valley of the Incas, between Cusco and Machu Picchu, combines Andean landscape, archaeological sites such as Písac and Ollantaytambo, and a broad base of upscale accommodation. At a lower average altitude than Cusco, around 2,800 metres, it often makes the best first night for acclimatisation. Puerto Maldonado Puerto Maldonado Puerto Maldonado, in Peru's southeastern Amazon, is the access gateway to the Tambopata rainforest and its biodiversity reserves. It connects by air from Cusco or Lima and leads on to jungle lodges set along the Madre de Dios and Tambopata rivers. Paracas Paracas Paracas, on the southern coast, is the gateway to the Ballestas Islands and the Paracas National Reserve, with its marine wildlife, desert and coastline. It is typically added as a coastal extension from Lima or as a staging point towards the Nazca Lines. Chiclayo Chiclayo Chiclayo is the capital of the Lambayeque region, on the northern coast of Peru, and the starting point for discovering the legacy of the Moche, Sicán and Lambayeque cultures. Around it are the Royal Tombs of Sipán Museum, the pyramids of Túcume and the Sicán National Museum, as well as the Huaca Rajada complex, where the tomb of the Lord of Sipán was found. Puno Puno Puno is the Peruvian city on the shore of Lake Titicaca, at almost four thousand metres above sea level, on the altiplano that Peru shares with Bolivia. It is the base for visiting the floating islands of the Uros, the islands of Taquile and Amantaní and the funerary towers of Sillustani, in a setting with a strong Quechua and Aymara identity.

Booking & policies

Are the prices shown net or retail?

Rates are net (wholesale) and reserved for travel agencies and tour operators, who sign in to see them and add their own margin. Public visitors see an indicative retail “from” price; the net rate is never shown outside the B2B Portal.

What happens after I book?

When you book, we receive your booking and start working on it: it shows as “In process” and we let you know of every update. Vouchers are sent once payments have been received.

What is the cancellation policy?

Cancellations follow Clause 7 of the Terms: more than 30 days before the service, no penalty and a full refund; 15 to 30 days, 25%; 8 to 14 days, 50%; 3 to 7 days, 75%; less than 72 hours before commencement or a no-show, 100%. Certain destinations — Patagonia, the Amazon region and high-demand dates in peak season — apply stricter terms, stated in the quotation. The schedule above is indicative: the conditions that apply to each booking are those stated in the quotation, and may be stricter in high season, on public holidays or where a service has its own policy.

Can dates or passenger names be changed after booking?

Amendment requests must reach RUMBO LIBRE at least 72 business hours before the service begins. Changes are managed subject to availability, and any resulting rate difference applies. For private services, a name change may require re-issuing the booking at the current rate.
