Ruta Moche

Arrival in Trujillo. Assistance and transfer to the hotel. In the afternoon, a tour of Trujillo's main archaeological sites, starting with the Rainbow Temple or Huaca El Dragón, of the Chimú culture. Next, the Chan Chan site museum and the impressive Chan Chan Archaeological Complex, spanning some 18 km² and featuring the Tschudi Palace, one of its best-preserved compounds. Finally, the traditional Huanchaco resort, an old fishing cove where you can see the reed boats known as Caballitos de Totora. Overnight in Trujillo. Meals: none.

Crossing vast sugar-cane fields, a visit to the El Brujo Archaeological Complex, an important Moche centre made up of three huacas: Cao, Partida and Prieta, with its monumental constructions and the striking polychrome paintings that decorate its walls. Then the Museum of the Señora de Cao, which displays the mummy of an ancient Moche ruler, whose discovery challenged the belief that only men ruled in this empire. At the agreed time, transfer to the station to take the bus to Chiclayo, where on arrival you receive assistance and a transfer to the hotel. Overnight in Chiclayo. Meals: breakfast.

In the morning, a visit to the Royal Tombs of the Lord of Sipán Museum, a modern pyramid-shaped building safeguarding treasures of Moche art and the remains of the ancient dignitary of Sipán: the reconstruction of the main tomb on the first floor, the gold, silver and copper ornaments on the second, and on the third the first piece of gold discovered, a rattle depicting the god Aia Apaec. Then the Huaca Rajada archaeological complex, made up of two pyramidal structures and a broad terrace built by the ancient Moche, where the intact tombs of the Lord of Sipán and the Old Lord of Sipán were found. In the afternoon, at the indicated time, transfer to the airport for the return flight to Lima. Meals: breakfast.
