An eleven-day journey the length of Chile, from the Atacama Desert in the north to Patagonia in the south, linked by domestic flights.

It opens with three nights in Santiago, with a panoramic city tour, a visit to Viña Santa Rita in the Maipo Valley and a day on the coast in Valparaíso and Viña del Mar. It continues with three nights in San Pedro de Atacama, exploring the Valle de la Luna at sunset, the Lagunas Altiplánicas, Piedras Rojas and Laguna Chaxa, and the Tatio geysers at dawn. After a night back in Santiago, it closes with three nights in Puerto Natales and a full day in Torres del Paine National Park, with the Cuernos del Paine, Salto Grande and Lago Grey. Day-by-day itinerary

Day1

Day 1: Arrival in Santiago

Private transfer from Arturo Merino Benítez International Airport (SCL) to the selected hotel in Santiago. The journey takes about 30 to 45 minutes over roughly 20 km, depending on the hotel location and traffic, in a comfortable air-conditioned vehicle.
Day2

Day 2: Santiago city tour and the Maipo Valley (Viña Santa Rita)

In the morning, a panoramic tour of Santiago from the hotel, contrasting the historic centre with the modern eastern sector: Avenida Libertador Bernardo O'Higgins (the Alameda) and the Palacio de La Moneda, the Plaza de Armas with the Cathedral, the Central Post Office and the City Hall, the ascent of Cerro Santa Lucía, the Parque Forestal, the Museo de Bellas Artes and Barrio Lastarria, crossing the Mapocho River to Barrio Bellavista, then Providencia, Las Condes and Vitacura with the Parque Bicentenario (approx. 08:30–14:00). Then on to the Maipo Valley to visit Viña Santa Rita, one of the country's leading wineries: the Selección experience through the vineyards and the historic Bodega 1 and Bodega de los 120 Patriotas (a National Monument), a premium wine tasting paired with cheese and crackers, and free time at the Museo Andino.
Day3

Day 3: Valparaíso and Viña del Mar

From the hotel to the central coast, crossing the Curacaví and Casablanca valleys. In Valparaíso, views from natural viewpoints, a photo stop at La Sebastiana (Pablo Neruda's house-museum, entrance not included), a ride on a traditional funicular and a walk through the Alegre and Concepción hills, with the Paseo Yugoslavo and Paseo Atkinson. In Viña del Mar, the Casino, its gardens and avenues, the Reloj de Flores and the Museo Fonck (with the only moái on the continental mainland), and the Quinta Vergara. Return to Santiago (approx. 08:30–17:00).
Day4

Day 4: Santiago – San Pedro de Atacama

Transfer to Santiago airport for the domestic flight to Calama. On arrival at El Loa Airport (CJC), a transfer of about 1 hour 15 minutes to 1 hour 30 minutes, over roughly 100 km across the Atacama Desert, to the selected hotel in San Pedro de Atacama.

Day 5: Valle de la Luna (afternoon service)

In the afternoon, excursion to the Valle de la Luna and the Mirador de Licarantay, in the Cordillera de la Sal. Salt-crusted mountains, dunes and rock formations: Las Tres Marías, the Cañón, the Anfiteatro and the Duna Mayor, ending with sunset from the Mirador de Licarantay over the desert and the volcanoes on the horizon (approx. 14:30–18:30). Not recommended for pregnant women, people with heart conditions or children under 8.
Day6

Day 6: Lagunas Altiplánicas, Piedras Rojas and Laguna Chaxa

Full-day excursion, early in the morning. Piedras Rojas (Salar de Aguas Calientes), at 3,800 metres, with a walk of about one hour and fifteen minutes among coppery rock formations, lagoons and salt flats; the Miscanti and Miñiques altiplanic lagoons; Laguna Chaxa, with flamingos in their natural habitat; and stops at Socaire and the Tropic of Capricorn before returning to San Pedro de Atacama (approx. 06:00–17:00). Not recommended for pregnant women, people with heart conditions or children under 6.
Day7

Day 7: Tatio Geysers, Machuca and Vado de Putana; flight to Santiago

Pre-dawn excursion to the Tatio geothermal field, at 4,200 metres — the largest geyser field in the southern hemisphere — with about an hour and a half among some 80 geysers and their steam columns, followed by the Machuca wetlands and the Vado de Putana and the village of Machuca (approx. 04:30–12:00). Afterwards, transfer to El Loa Airport (CJC) in Calama for the flight to Santiago and transfer to the selected hotel. Not recommended for pregnant women, people with heart conditions or children under 8.
Day8

Day 8: Santiago – Puerto Natales

Transfer to Santiago airport for the domestic flight to Puerto Natales. On arrival at Puerto Natales airport, a representative meets you and transfers you to the hotel, with a first sight of the Patagonian landscapes.
Day9

Day 9: Torres del Paine National Park (lunch included)

Full-day excursion from Puerto Natales to Torres del Paine National Park. A first stop at the Cueva del Milodón; Laguna Amarga, the park's gateway, with views of the Torres del Paine if the weather permits; the Cuernos del Paine; a walk to Salto Grande on the Río Paine; and Lago Grey, reached through a coigüe forest and a suspension bridge over the Río Pingo, with floating icebergs from the Glaciar Grey and the Paine Grande massif behind (approx. 07:00–18:00). Lunch included.

Day 10: Free day in Puerto Natales

Free day for independent activities.

Day 11: Departure

At the indicated time, a representative collects you from your hotel in Puerto Natales for the transfer to the airport and your departure flight.

Booking & policies

Are the prices shown net or retail?

Rates are net (wholesale) and reserved for travel agencies and tour operators, who sign in to see them and add their own margin. Public visitors see an indicative retail “from” price; the net rate is never shown outside the agency portal.

How is a booking confirmed?

Most bookings are confirmed immediately and the voucher is emailed within minutes. When a service shows “In process”, RUMBO LIBRE is confirming final availability with the receptive operator at destination — usually within 24 to 48 business hours.

What is the cancellation policy?

Cancellations follow Clause 7 of the Terms: more than 30 days before the service, no penalty and a full refund; 15 to 30 days, 25%; 8 to 14 days, 50%; 3 to 7 days, 75%; less than 72 hours before commencement or a no-show, 100%. Certain destinations — Patagonia, the Amazon region and high-demand dates in peak season — apply stricter terms, stated in the quotation. The schedule above is indicative: the conditions that apply to each booking are those confirmed in the quotation, and may be stricter in high season, on public holidays or where a supplier applies its own policy.

Can dates or passenger names be changed after confirmation?

Amendment requests must reach RUMBO LIBRE at least 72 business hours before the service begins. Changes are managed with the receptive operator subject to availability, and any resulting rate difference applies. For private services, a name change may require re-issuing the booking at the current rate.
