Your trip turns into a survival adventure, where you learn about life in the jungle with firsthand experience, the main goal being to learn how to navigate through the tropical jungle. Imagine having to find food and water to avoid starvation or dehydration, and building a shelter out of what you find. You will visit the most untouched corners of the jungle and become acquainted with its fauna and flora, as well as the traditional culture of the isolated Caboclo indigenous people.

The Amazon astonishes with the richness of its fauna and flora: this vast expanse holds over a million different species of plants and animals, making the region an unparalleled genetic reservoir. The Amazon basin hosts the world's largest expanse of moist tropical forest, with the hot and humid climate of the evergreen equatorial forest.

Day-by-day itinerary

Day1

Day 1: From the Hotel to the Base Camp

Departure from the hotel to the base camp and introduction to local life. You will acquire the skills to navigate a canoe and to fish using local methods such as nets, arrows, spears and cast nets. The day ends with an overnight stay in hammocks at the base camp.
Day2

Day 2: Jungle Survival Skills

Explore the jungle with step-by-step instructions and demonstrations on how to find water, start a fire and obtain salt. Your instructor will teach you to recognise types of vegetables and fruits, set traps, build shelters and administer first aid in the jungle. You will also be introduced to a new activity: tree climbing with bound legs. Afterward, lunch consisting of chicken, fish, cassava, lemon and fruits. After lunch, you will put your newly acquired skills into action. In the evening, dinner is served in the jungle. Nighttime features lectures on Amazon legends, jungle knowledge and local traditions. Overnight in hammocks with mosquito nets tied between the trees.
Day3

Day 3: Putting Your Skills to Use

Explore the jungle, find food, have lunch and dinner there, and receive hands-on guidance to put your skills to use. Overnight again in hammocks with mosquito nets strung between the trees.
Day4

Day 4: Dolphins at Vila do Acajatuba & Return

Return to the base camp, meeting with dolphins at "Vila do Acajatuba", and return to the hotel pier.

Booking & policies

Are the prices shown net or retail?

Rates are net (wholesale) and reserved for travel agencies and tour operators, who sign in to see them and add their own margin. Public visitors see an indicative retail “from” price; the net rate is never shown outside the agency portal.

How is a booking confirmed?

Most bookings are confirmed immediately and the voucher is emailed within minutes. When a service shows “In process”, RUMBO LIBRE is confirming final availability with the receptive operator at destination — usually within 24 to 48 business hours.

What is the cancellation policy?

Cancellations follow Clause 7 of the Terms: more than 30 days before the service, no penalty and a full refund; 15 to 30 days, 25%; 8 to 14 days, 50%; 3 to 7 days, 75%; less than 72 hours before commencement or a no-show, 100%. Certain destinations — Patagonia, the Amazon region and high-demand dates in peak season — apply stricter terms, stated in the quotation. The schedule above is indicative: the conditions that apply to each booking are those confirmed in the quotation, and may be stricter in high season, on public holidays or where a supplier applies its own policy.

Can dates or passenger names be changed after confirmation?

Amendment requests must reach RUMBO LIBRE at least 72 business hours before the service begins. Changes are managed with the receptive operator subject to availability, and any resulting rate difference applies. For private services, a name change may require re-issuing the booking at the current rate.
