Circuits Hotels Excursions

Villa La Angostura is a mountain village on the northern shore of Lake Nahuel Huapi, in the province of Neuquén and within the Nahuel Huapi National Park. Andean-Patagonian forests, very clear lakes and timber-and-stone architecture define a serene, small-scale destination with a distinctly residential character.

In a programme it works as a quiet alternative to Bariloche and as a natural stop on the Seven Lakes Route towards San Martín de los Andes. The Quetrihué peninsula, with its arrayán forest, and lakes Correntoso and Espejo stand out.

Destination guide for the trade

When to go

Villa La Angostura can be visited all year round, with different profiles. Summer (December–March) is the season for lakes, trails and boat trips; winter brings skiers to Cerro Bayo. Spring and autumn are quieter, with the forest in bloom or in reddish tones, although the weather is changeable and the nights cool.

MICE & groups

The destination is suited to small or medium-sized incentive groups and to executive meetings on an intimate scale, not to large congresses. Its value lies in the lakeside setting, the offer of mountain lodgings and the feeling of retreat. For larger events Bariloche should be considered, reserving here a day or a closing night.

Incentives

Credible incentive experiences include the walk or boat trip to the arrayán forest on the Quetrihué peninsula, lunches on the lakeshore, drives along the Seven Lakes Route and, in winter, snow days at Cerro Bayo. Its secluded character favours programmes with personalised attention.

Access & logistics

It has no commercial airport of its own: it is reached from Bariloche airport (BRC) by road, on a transfer of a little over an hour, or via National Route 40 from San Martín de los Andes along the Seven Lakes Route. In winter, the condition of the roads and the snow should be checked before confirming transfers.

Trade notes

Plan 2 to 3 nights, either as an alternative to Bariloche or as a stage in a route that includes the Seven Lakes Route and San Martín de los Andes. Suits nature travellers, couples, families and ski groups from regional and long-haul markets who seek a more secluded setting than the neighbouring city.

Useful information

Recommended stay: 2 to 3 nights, on its own or as part of a lakes circuit.

No commercial airport of its own; access is via Bariloche airport (BRC) and then by road, on a transfer of a little over an hour.

Summer for lakes, walks and boat trips; winter for skiing at Cerro Bayo; autumn with intense colours.

The village consists of a small centre and several scattered lakeside areas: transfers are advisable.

Combines with Bariloche and, along the Seven Lakes Route, with San Martín de los Andes.

Booking & policies

Are the prices shown net or retail?

Rates are net (wholesale) and reserved for travel agencies and tour operators, who sign in to see them and add their own margin. Public visitors see an indicative retail “from” price; the net rate is never shown outside the B2B Portal.

What happens after I book?

When you book, we receive your booking and start working on it: it shows as “In process” and we let you know of every update. Vouchers are sent once payments have been received.

What is the cancellation policy?

Cancellations follow Clause 7 of the Terms: more than 30 days before the service, no penalty and a full refund; 15 to 30 days, 25%; 8 to 14 days, 50%; 3 to 7 days, 75%; less than 72 hours before commencement or a no-show, 100%. Certain destinations — Patagonia, the Amazon region and high-demand dates in peak season — apply stricter terms, stated in the quotation. The schedule above is indicative: the conditions that apply to each booking are those stated in the quotation, and may be stricter in high season, on public holidays or where a service has its own policy.

Can dates or passenger names be changed after booking?

Amendment requests must reach RUMBO LIBRE at least 72 business hours before the service begins. Changes are managed subject to availability, and any resulting rate difference applies. For private services, a name change may require re-issuing the booking at the current rate.
