A six-day journey combining Peru's capital with the Amazon rainforest.
It begins with two nights in Lima and a half-day tour of the colonial and modern city, from Huaca Pucllana to the Plaza Mayor and the Santo Domingo convent. It continues with a flight to Iquitos and embarkation at Nauta aboard La Perla, for three nights sailing the Marañón River and the Pacaya Samiria National Reserve. The programme includes launch excursions in search of pink dolphins, caimans and birds, piranha fishing with local techniques, jungle walks to the hanging bridges, a meeting with the shaman of the San Regis community and a visit to a manatee rescue centre. Full board is served on board and the excursions are run with naturalist guides.
