Circuits Hotels Excursions

Brasília is Brazil's purpose-built capital, inaugurated in 1960 and inscribed by UNESCO for Oscar Niemeyer's modernist architecture and Lúcio Costa's Pilot Plan. It is primarily a government, business and congress city rather than a leisure destination, with landmark buildings — the Cathedral, Congress, Itamaraty — best seen in a half- to full-day architectural tour. For programs it works as a themed stopover or a MICE base rather than a multi-night leisure stay.

Destination guide for the trade

When to go

Set on the central plateau with a mild, distinctly seasonal climate. The dry season (roughly May–September) brings sunny days, low humidity and cool nights; the wet season (October–April) is warm with afternoon rains. The dry months are the more comfortable window for touring.

MICE & groups

As the federal capital, Brasília is a natural host for association, government and corporate congresses, anchored by the Centro de Convenções Ulysses Guimarães and a substantial business-hotel base in the hotel sectors. It is well suited to large conventions and official events.

Incentives

Incentive angles centre on private architectural tours with Niemeyer landmarks, gala dinners in modernist venues and access tied to institutional or cultural itineraries. As a leisure incentive it is usually a short, themed component rather than a full programme.

Access & logistics

Presidente Juscelino Kubitschek International (BSB) is one of Brazil's busiest domestic hubs, centrally located with links to every region and some international flights. The airport is close to the centre, around 12 km, with short transfers to the main hotel sectors.

Trade notes

One to two nights is typical. Brasília fits architecture- and design-focused itineraries and serves as a convenient domestic connection between regions. Best suited to MICE, official travel and special-interest architecture markets rather than mainstream leisure.
