Circuits Hotels Excursions

Paracas, on the southern coast, is the gateway to the Ballestas Islands and the Paracas National Reserve, with its marine wildlife, desert and coastline. It is typically added as a coastal extension from Lima or as a staging point towards the Nazca Lines.

The Ballestas are visited by boat, while the reserve offers desert landscapes that contrast with the ocean, adding variety to the Andean segment of a program.

Destination guide for the trade

When to go

The coastal climate is mild and dry year-round, with little rain. From May to October the garúa and grey skies may appear, while the austral summer (December–March) is sunnier and warmer, favourable for boat outings. Marine wildlife can be seen throughout the year.

MICE & groups

Paracas has a few seafront resorts with group capacity, suitable for small and mid-size incentives seeking a coastal component. It complements Lima as a relaxed extension rather than a primary congress base.

Incentives

Private boat outings to the Ballestas, 4x4 tours across the desert reserve and the scenic overflight of the Nazca Lines make memorable rewards. Dining facing the Pacific adds a coastal finale to the program.

Access & logistics

Reached mainly by road from Lima (LIM) on the Pan-American Highway, a journey of about three-and-a-half to four hours. The nearby Pisco airport (PIO) offers an air alternative. Nazca is reached by road further south for the overflight of the lines.

Trade notes

A single night is enough to combine Ballestas, the reserve and, optionally, Nazca. Paracas works as a coastal extension of the Lima hub before or after the Andean block, fitting markets that value nature and landscape alongside the Inca heritage.
