CircuitsHotelsExcursions
Viña del Mar is a seaside city on the central coast of Chile, in the Valparaíso region, with beaches, the Castillo Wulff and the Quinta Vergara. It adjoins Valparaíso, whose historic quarter is a UNESCO World Heritage Site, and combines coastal life with an urban offer of hotels, restaurants and seafront walks.
In a programme it works as an extension of one or two nights from Santiago, with the sea little more than an hour and a half away by road, and as a base for getting to know Valparaíso.
Viña del Mar has a mild Mediterranean climate, with rain concentrated in winter and an annual mean temperature of about 14 °C. December to February is the high beach season, with the most intense heat and accommodation harder to find; the International Song Festival is held at the Quinta Vergara, usually in February. Outside the summer the atmosphere is cooler and quieter.
MICE & groups
Viña del Mar is suited to corporate meetings and small or medium-sized incentive groups, with a hotel offer on the coast that includes four- and five-star categories; for large congresses, room capacity should be checked with the local supplier. Its proximity to Santiago makes programmes of one or two days easy.
Incentives
Credible experiences include a walk around the Castillo Wulff and the coast, a visit to the Flower Clock and the Quinta Vergara, a day in the historic quarter of Valparaíso, a seafront dinner and a stroll through the botanical garden. The urban, coastal profile allows a cultural programme to be combined with free time on the beach.
Access & logistics
It has no commercial airport of its own: it is reached from Santiago along Route 68, about 120 km, or from Santiago airport (SCL) on a journey of around an hour and a half. There are direct buses from Santiago of about an hour and three quarters. An urban train runs between Viña del Mar and Valparaíso. Allow a margin at the busiest traffic hours.
Trade notes
Plan 1 to 2 nights as an extension of Santiago, or more if Valparaíso is added at a relaxed pace. Combines with Santiago and Valparaíso. Suits sun-and-beach, city and events clients, especially from regional markets looking for a coast within reach of the capital; in January and February it is advisable to book in advance.

Booking & policies
Are the prices shown net or retail?
Rates are net (wholesale) and reserved for travel agencies and tour operators, who sign in to see them and add their own margin. Public visitors see a reference “from” price, indicative and subject to availability; the net rate is never shown outside the B2B Portal.
What happens after I book?
When you book, we receive your booking and start working on it: it shows as “In process” and we let you know of every update. Vouchers are sent once payments have been received.
What is the cancellation policy?
Cancellations are governed by the conditions stated in each quotation. The standard conditions are: more than 30 days before arrival, the deposit is non-refundable; 30 to 15 days before arrival, 50% of the total price is charged; less than 15 days before arrival or a no-show, 100%. They may vary on peak dates and depend on the policy of each hotel and service. Certain destinations — Patagonia, the Amazon region and high-demand dates in peak season — apply stricter terms, stated in the quotation. Conditions stated in the quotation and accepted by the agency at booking take precedence over the general schedule in Clause 7.1 of the Terms.
Can dates or passenger names be changed after booking?
Amendment requests must reach RUMBO LIBRE at least 72 business hours before the service begins. Changes are managed subject to availability, and any resulting rate difference applies. For private services, a name change may require re-issuing the booking at the current rate.
