A street carnival with no parade to watch: here the client is inside it or not there at all.

What it is

The Bahian carnival is organised in circuits along which the trios elétricos move: Dodô, between Barra and Ondina, along the sea; Osmar, at Campo Grande, more traditional; and Batatinha, in the Pelourinho, without trios and with Afro blocks, the most manageable for a family. You take part by buying a bloco's abadá, which gives access inside the rope, or from a camarote overlooking the circuit.

What to offer

Four to six nights with the decision already made by circuit and by format: an abadá for the client who wants to walk inside the bloco, a camarote for the one who would rather watch, drink and sit down. As a second leg, Morro de São Paulo or the Costa do Sauípe decompress the package and bring the average rate down.

How it operates

The city reorganises itself around the circuits: hotels in Barra and Ondina sit inside the perimeter and are the most requested, with minimum stays and prepayment. Inside the perimeter, getting around is done on foot for much of the day, and that is worth saying before the sale rather than after it.
