Roughly 6-hour excursion to Lake Sandoval, inside the Tambopata National Reserve, in the Madre de Dios region. Hotel pick-up and transfer to the river port, from where a motorized boat runs along the Madre de Dios river to the reserve entrance. After a hike of about 3 km through flooded forest, guests board a paddle canoe to explore the oxbow lake, where giant river otter, caimans, herons, turtles and water birds can be seen. Shared service with guide included. Access requires registration at the reserve checkpoint and payment of the protected-area entrance fee.
