Which destination suits which month, what to propose and why.
Chile runs more than four thousand kilometres from north to south, so a single national band says nothing: the Atacama and Torres del Paine barely share a month that suits both. What an agency needs is the combination window, and it is narrow: October, November and March are the months with workable weather from north to south, which is why they fill first.
The congress season in Santiago runs March to June and August to November. December to February is low for groups, because the Chilean summer holidays leave the city without its own corporate population. The second window is the stronger one for an incentive extending to the Atacama.
| Month | Where | What to offer | Why |
|---|---|---|---|
| Jan | Puerto Natales | Four nights in Torres del Paine | Peak Patagonia: sellable, but only with lead time, and the warmest month is also the windiest. |
| Feb | Isla de Pascua | Four nights on Easter Island | Tapati falls in early February and the island's capacity is fixed, so this is an early-booking sale. |
| Mar | Puerto Natales | Four nights in Patagonia plus three in Santiago | The balance point: milder wind, the summer crowds gone and Santiago in harvest. |
| Apr | Puerto Natales | Four nights in Torres del Paine | The strongest month for pumas, crowd-free trails and less wind: a wildlife sale, not a trekking one. |
| May | San Pedro de Atacama | Four nights in the Atacama | The night skies enter their clearest run just as the south closes. |
| Jun | — | No Chilean recommendation this month | No Chilean destination works well in June beyond the Atacama, which July already carries: steer the client to Brazil's Northeast or the Amazon. |
| Jul | San Pedro de Atacama | Four nights in the Atacama | The stargazing window at its strongest, with cold nights the client should be briefed on. |
| Aug | Santiago de Chile | Three nights in Santiago plus three in the Atacama | The congress season opens in the capital, with the north still in its clear-sky window. |
| Sep | Santiago de Chile | Three nights in Santiago plus four in the Atacama | Spring in the capital and the Atacama at its mildest. |
| Oct | Puerto Varas | Three nights in the Lake District plus three in Patagonia | Patagonia reopens and the Lake District comes into its own season. |
| Nov | Puerto Natales | Four nights in Patagonia | Mild winds, thin crowds and full access: the most favourable combination of the year for selling Chile. |
| Dec | Puerto Montt | Three nights in the Lake District plus four in Patagonia | Peak Patagonia with a softer first leg that is easier to place. |
