Mendoza travel guide
Mendoza is Argentina's leading wine region, spread over irrigated valleys at the foot of the Andes. Malbec is its emblem, and the wineries of Luján de Cuyo and the Uco Valley shape much of the visit. Alongside the wine route lies the high mountain, with the road to Aconcagua and Puente del Inca.

- Luján de Cuyo approx. 5 h The birthplace of Malbec, half an hour from the city; a half-day with tasting.
- The Uco Valley approx. 9 h A full day with lunch; altitude, modern wineries and the cordillera straight ahead.
- The high Andes and the Aconcagua viewpoint approx. 9 h A full day towards the Chilean pass; the pass can close for snow in winter.
- A vineyard tasting menu approx. 4 h The premium version of a winery visit: a long seated lunch, booked weeks ahead.
- Rafting and horses in Potrerillos approx. 6 h The active half-day in the pre-cordillera; the water level changes with the season.
- Maipú by bicycle approx. 5 h Small wineries and olive oil on flat roads; the informal end of the region.

When to go
Autumn (March to May) coincides with the grape harvest and brings pleasant weather and vineyards in colour. Spring and summer are warm and dry; winter offers views of the snow-capped range with cool temperatures.
How many days
Three days allow an unhurried tour of the winery zones of Luján de Cuyo, Maipú and the Uco Valley. Adding the high-mountain excursion towards Aconcagua warrants a further full day.
What not to miss
The wineries and tastings of Luján de Cuyo and the Uco Valley; the high-mountain circuit along Route 7 to Puente del Inca and the Aconcagua viewpoint; and the city of Mendoza with its General San Martín Park.
What to offer and why
Three nights with one valley per day and never two: Maipú, Luján and Uco are different drives and different wines. The high mountain fills the third day and changes the register of the trip entirely.
When to book
Four to six months for the March harvest. Three to four weeks the rest of the year, unless the client wants a winery with its own restaurant — there are few.
Practical and operational
Wineries are visited by prior booking and close on fixed days: an unconfirmed day is how the client ends up at three closed gates. The Uco Valley is more than an hour from the city.

We coordinate winery visits, tastings and transfers with local operators and estates, and sell net rates to the agency. Wineries work by prior booking and limited slots, especially during the harvest, so we confirm well in advance.

Are the prices shown net or retail?
Rates are net (wholesale) and reserved for travel agencies and tour operators, who sign in to see them and add their own margin. Public visitors see an indicative retail “from” price; the net rate is never shown outside the agency portal.
How is a booking confirmed?
Most bookings are confirmed immediately and the voucher is emailed within minutes. When a service shows “In process”, RUMBO LIBRE is confirming final availability with the receptive operator at destination — usually within 24 to 48 business hours.
What is the cancellation policy?
Cancellations follow Clause 7 of the Terms: more than 30 days before the service, no penalty and a full refund; 15 to 30 days, 25%; 8 to 14 days, 50%; 3 to 7 days, 75%; less than 72 hours before commencement or a no-show, 100%. Certain destinations — Patagonia, the Amazon region and high-demand dates in peak season — apply stricter terms, stated in the quotation. The schedule above is indicative: the conditions that apply to each booking are those confirmed in the quotation, and may be stricter in high season, on public holidays or where a supplier applies its own policy.
Can dates or passenger names be changed after confirmation?
Amendment requests must reach RUMBO LIBRE at least 72 business hours before the service begins. Changes are managed with the receptive operator subject to availability, and any resulting rate difference applies. For private services, a name change may require re-issuing the booking at the current rate.
