FOZ DO IGUAÇU - BRASIL
Foz do Iguaçu, in the far west of Paraná, is the Brazilian gateway to the Cataratas do Iguaçu and the triple border with Argentina and Paraguay. The Brazilian side of the park offers the panoramic view of the falls complex and the walkway toward the Devil's Throat; the Argentine side holds most of the trails and viewpoints. The Itaipú dam and the Parque das Aves round out the programme.
Lodging splits between downtown Foz, with the widest choice of chains and services, and Avenida das Cataratas, closer to the park and resort in profile. Inside the Brazilian park there is a single upper-category option, with access to the falls outside public hours.
Operationally, two nights are advisable to cover both sides of the falls; border crossings call for transit time on each visit.
