MORRO DE SÃO PAULO - BRASIL
Morro de São Paulo, on Tinharé island (Bahia), is a village with no vehicle traffic, organised around numbered beaches: Primeira and Segunda hold the restaurants and nightlife, while Terceira, Quarta and Quinta grow progressively quieter.
For accommodation, pousadas by Primeira and Segunda praia sit within walking distance of the centre and the activity; Quarta and Quinta offer more isolated beachfront properties, suited to pax seeking quiet.
Operational note: the island is car-free; access from Salvador is by catamaran (around 2 h 30 min) or by a mixed route to Valença and speedboat. Luggage is moved by wheelbarrow, so limit volume and allow for swell on the sea crossing.
