Wanda Mines and San Ignacio Jesuit Ruins

Full-day private excursion from Puerto Iguazú to the Wanda Mines and the San Ignacio Miní Jesuit Ruins, with guide. It covers the semi-precious stone galleries and the 17th-century Guaraní Jesuit complex.

The day starts early, leaving your accommodation in Puerto Iguazú toward southern Misiones. The first stop is the Wanda Mines, where you descend through the quarry galleries to see amethysts, agates and quartz in their natural veins, in violet and transparent tones. From there the road continues along the provincial route, among yerba mate plantations and red earth, for just over three hours to San Ignacio.

At San Ignacio Miní you walk through one of the former Jesuit-Guaraní mission complexes: the central square, the carved reddish stone walls and the remains of the temple, built in the 17th century. The visit is accompanied by a guide, who explains how the reduction worked and the purpose of each sector. As a private service, the pace of the day adapts to your group, with your own time at each stop before the return to Puerto Iguazú in the late afternoon.
