Minitrekking on the Perito Moreno Glacier

Full-day shared excursion with a walk on the ice of the Perito Moreno Glacier, in Los Glaciares National Park, with guide. Includes approach cruise and the use of crampons.

After the transfer from El Calafate, a short cruise crosses the Brazo Rico of Lago Argentino to the south edge of the Perito Moreno Glacier. At the base, guides hand out the crampons and form small groups to step onto the ice.

The walk on the glacier lasts around an hour and a half and covers the accessible sector of the front, among blue-ice formations, small crevasses and meltwater pools. Guides set the route and explain how the glacier works along the way.

Operational notes

Activity limited to passengers aged 8 to 65 due to physical and safety requirements. Requires trekking footwear and moderate fitness. Los Glaciares National Park admission not included; paid at the entrance. Guide included. Available languages to be arranged at the time of booking.
