Big Ice — Trekking on the Perito Moreno Glacier

Full-day shared excursion with an extended trek on the ice of the Perito Moreno Glacier, in Los Glaciares National Park, with guide. Route through the glacier interior with crampons.

After the transfer from El Calafate and the cruise across the Brazo Rico of Lago Argentino, an approach walk along the lateral moraine leads to the point where crampons are fitted. From there, the route heads into the glacier for around three and a half hours.

The path moves towards areas further from the front, among deep crevasses, sinkholes and ice caves that form and shift with the season. Guides choose the route according to the state of the ice and keep the group on safe sectors throughout the day.

Operational notes

Activity limited to passengers aged 18 to 50; requires good fitness. Suitable trekking footwear required. Los Glaciares National Park admission not included; paid at the entrance. Guide included. Available languages to be arranged at the time of booking.
