Ríos de Hielo — Cruise to Upsala and Spegazzini (Estancia Cristina)

Full-day shared excursion with a cruise along the Brazo Norte of Lago Argentino to the Upsala and Spegazzini glaciers and a day at Estancia Cristina, with guide. Boarding at Punta Bandera.

From Puerto Punta Bandera, the cruise moves into the Brazo Norte of Lago Argentino and crosses the Boca del Diablo, the narrowest stretch of the lake, among icebergs broken off from the glaciers. The route passes through the Upsala and Cristina channels, with the Upsala Glacier visible in the distance, before reaching Estancia Cristina around midday.

The estancia, in a valley surrounded by ñire forests, was founded in 1914 by the Masters family. The day includes a guided land excursion towards viewpoints overlooking the front of the Upsala Glacier and the Caterina river valley, and a visit to the estancia's heritage buildings.

Operational notes

Seasonal service: operates approximately between October and April, subject to sailing conditions. Los Glaciares National Park admission not included; paid at the entrance. Transfer from El Calafate to Punta Bandera not included. Guide included. Available languages to be arranged at the time of booking.
