El Chaltén — Trek to Laguna de los Tres / Fitz Roy (full day)

Private full-day excursion from El Calafate to El Chaltén with a guided trek to Laguna de los Tres, at the foot of Fitz Roy, in Los Glaciares National Park. Round-trip transfer included.

The day begins in the early morning with the transfer from El Calafate, skirting Lago Viedma for around three hours up to the town of El Chaltén, within Los Glaciares National Park. From there, accompanied by a guide, the trek towards Laguna de los Tres begins, at the foot of Cerro Fitz Roy.

The trail runs around 20 km through lenga forest and viewpoints of the Fitz Roy range, with a final stretch of roughly 1 km of steep climbing up to the lagoon, at around 1,100 metres of altitude. From the shore, the granite spires of Fitz Roy rise above the glacier that descends to the lagoon. The return runs down the valley towards El Chaltén and then by vehicle to El Calafate at the end of the day.
