Glaciarium — Patagonian ice museum

Visit to Glaciarium, the Patagonian ice museum in El Calafate, with admission included. A tour of the interpretation halls on the glaciers of Parque Nacional Los Glaciares.

About six kilometres from El Calafate, on the road to Perito Moreno, Glaciarium gathers in its halls the story of Patagonian ice: how glaciers form, how they advance and retreat, and what role the ice field that feeds Parque Nacional Los Glaciares plays. Projections and models explain the phenomenon before you see it in the field.

Those who wish may add admission to the Glaciobar, a hall at -10 degrees with a bar, tables and benches carved from ice, where drinks are served as part of that access. The visit works as preparation for understanding the glacier you tour the following day.

Operational notes

Glaciobar access is not included and is not permitted for visitors under 16. Reduced hours in the winter season (May to August).
