Beagle Channel Cruise to the Les Éclaireurs Lighthouse
Shared cruise of about 3 hours along the Beagle Channel from Ushuaia harbour, with a guide on board. Sails past Isla de los Pájaros, Isla de los Lobos and the Les Éclaireurs Lighthouse.
The vessel leaves Ushuaia harbour and heads into the Beagle Channel, with the Andean peaks on one side and open water on the other. The first stop is Isla de los Pájaros, where imperial and rock cormorants nest, followed shortly by Isla de los Lobos, a low rocky islet covered with sea lions that can be seen and heard from the deck.
The centrepiece of the route is the Les Éclaireurs Lighthouse, a red-and-white striped tower 11 metres high raised in 1920 on the Bridges archipelago. The vessel slows to circle it before turning back, sailing home between the archipelago islands and Paso Chico. A guide on board explains the wildlife and geography of the channel.
