Estancia Harberton and Museo Acatushún

Full-day private excursion to Estancia Harberton, 85 km from Ushuaia along National Route 3, with guide. It includes a guided tour of the estancia grounds and the Museo Acatushún of marine birds and mammals.

The day starts early in Ushuaia and runs east along National Route 3, skirting lakes and Fuegian forest, before taking the road down to the shore of the Beagle Channel. After about 85 kilometres, Estancia Harberton appears, founded by the Bridges family in 1886, with its sheet-metal and timber houses facing the channel.

The guided visit covers the park, the family cemetery, the replicas of the Yámana people's dwellings, the shearing shed and the main house garden. On the same grounds, the Museo Acatushún brings together skeletons of marine birds and mammals recovered along the Fuegian coast, among them uncommon species of beaked whales.
