Península Valdés — wildlife full-day tour

Private full-day tour of Península Valdés from Puerto Madryn, with guide. Covers Istmo Carlos Ameghino, Puerto Pirámides, Caleta Valdés, Punta Cantor and Punta Norte for coastal Patagonian wildlife viewing.

The day crosses Istmo Carlos Ameghino, the narrow land strip linking the mainland to Península Valdés, where an interpretation centre presents the marine ecosystem and the wildlife of the protected area. From there the route heads to the coast: Puerto Pirámides opens onto the Golfo Nuevo, and at Caleta Valdés walkways run above the shoreline where elephant seals rest. At Punta Norte the sea lion colony occupies the beach, while guanacos and maras appear among the grasslands.

Wildlife changes with the calendar. From June to December southern right whales approach to breed and can be seen from shore; from September to March Magellanic penguins occupy the coastal strip. The pace of the day allows stopping at each viewpoint for as long as needed to observe and photograph, accompanied by a guide throughout.
