Punta Norte Reserve and Caleta Valdés in Península Valdés

Full-day private excursion from Puerto Madryn to the Punta Norte Reserve and Caleta Valdés, in Península Valdés, with guide and coastal wildlife viewing. Includes admission to the protected area.

The day is devoted entirely to Península Valdés, a strip of Patagonian coast where marine wildlife breeds just metres from the viewpoints. At the Punta Norte Reserve a colony of single-haired sea lions settles; between March and May, orcas approach this beach, where they practise intentional stranding to hunt.

At Caleta Valdés, a long gravel spit separates the sea from an inner lagoon where southern elephant seals rest and breed. Accompanied by a guide, the tour moves across the steppe between one point and another, with stops at the coastal viewpoints.
