Larco Museum

Private visit to the Larco Museum in Lima, with guide and admission included. Covers the pre-Columbian art collection, the visible storage and the Checan gallery, set among gardens.

The Larco Museum occupies an 18th-century mansion built over a pre-Columbian pyramid, in the Pueblo Libre district, surrounded by gardens with bougainvillea. The collection spans more than 5,000 years of ancient Peruvian history, with ceramics, textiles and gold and silver pieces displayed in chronological order.

The visit takes in the visible storage, where thousands of catalogued vessels are shown on open shelving, and the Checan gallery, devoted to the depiction of sexuality and fertility in the ceramics of pre-Inca cultures. The museum is open every day of the year.
