Pachacámac Sanctuary

Private excursion to the Pachacámac Archaeological Sanctuary, south of Lima, with guide and admission included. Covers the site museum and the temples of the Lurín valley.

The Pachacámac sanctuary spreads over 465 hectares in the Lurín valley, facing the Pacific, and brings together adobe and stone structures raised over three millennia, from cultures earlier than the Inca to the Inca occupation.

The visit begins at the site museum, where the Pachacámac idol and pieces recovered from the excavations are displayed. From the complex the route reaches the Temple of the Sun, at the top of the site, with views of the sea and the dunes of the valley; the Painted Temple keeps traces of its original decoration and the Acllahuasi shows enclosures with reconstructed walls.
