Palomino Islands — boat trip and sea lions

Shared boat trip from Callao to the Palomino Islands, with guide, to observe the sea lion colony. Includes the option to swim among the sea lions with a wetsuit.

The boat sets off from the La Punta pier and crosses Callao bay, among cargo ships and fishing vessels, heading for the islands off the coast. Along the way San Lorenzo and El Frontón Islands come into view, with colonies of guano birds and, depending on the season, Humboldt penguins on the rocks.

On reaching the Palomino Islands, thousands of sea lions spread across the rocks and the water. Those who wish put on a wetsuit and enter the sea to swim near the colony, in two short immersions; the rest watch from the deck. The return follows the same stretch of bay back to the port.

Operational notes

Service subject to sea conditions; it may be rescheduled due to swell or port closure. Swimming among the sea lions is optional and is undertaken at the passenger's decision. Guide included. Available languages to be coordinated at the time of booking.
