Machu Picchu from the Sacred Valley (train from Ollantaytambo)

Full-day excursion to Machu Picchu from the Sacred Valley, with train from Ollantaytambo station and guide at the site. Round-trip train, ascent bus and admission with circuit are included.

After the hotel pick-up, the drive leads to Ollantaytambo station, where the train departs and descends through the Urubamba canyon following the river. In a little over an hour and a half the landscape shifts from the open valley to the dense vegetation of the cloud forest, until reaching Aguas Calientes, at the foot of the mountain.

From the town, the bus climbs the zigzag road for about twenty-five minutes to the citadel entrance. At Machu Picchu, accompanied by a guide, the route follows the assigned circuit among terraces, stone enclosures and squares, with views over Huayna Picchu and the valley surrounding the complex. At the end, the return is made by the same bus and the train back to Ollantaytambo.
