Ese'Eja native community and ethnobotanical trail

Visit to the Ese'Eja native community of Infierno and a walk along an ethnobotanical trail in Tambopata, with guide. Medicinal plants and traditional Amazon knowledge.

A boat leg along the Tambopata river leads to the territory of the Ese'Eja community of Infierno. The route follows a trail where medicinal plants, timber trees and crops that are part of the community's daily life grow.

Along the way, a community member explains the use of each plant: those used to treat ailments, those used in traditional preparations and those valued as food. The walk brings closer the botanical knowledge passed down through generations of the Ese'Eja people.

Operational notes

The activity is coordinated with the community and may be adjusted according to its calendar. Following the community's guidance on photography is recommended. Guide included. Available languages to be coordinated at the time of booking.
