Chiloé Island (full day)
Private full-day tour from Puerto Varas to Chiloé Island, crossing the Chacao Channel by ferry, with visits to Ancud, Castro and Dalcahue, with guide.
The day starts early from Puerto Varas toward Pargua, where the vehicle boards the ferry that crosses the Chacao Channel. During the navigation, around 30 minutes, sea lions and seabirds are often spotted from the deck. On the island, Ancud opens the route with its square, the craft market and the San Antonio fort facing the sea.
In Castro, the Pedro Montt palafitos stand on stilts at the water's edge and the wooden San Francisco Church keeps its painted interior. Dalcahue, opposite Quinchao Island, brings together the waterfront market and another of the wooden churches recognised by UNESCO. The day combines towns, markets and heritage, accompanied by a guide.
