Base Torres — trek

Private full-day trek to the Mirador Base Torres in Torres del Paine National Park from Puerto Natales, with guide. About 22 km round trip with close to 1,000 m of elevation gain.

The departure from Puerto Natales is early, with about two hours on the road to the Las Torres sector, the trailhead. The walk climbs up the Río Ascencio valley, passes Refugio Chileno and crosses a lenga forest before the final stretch.

The last kilometre ascends a moraine of loose rock, the most demanding part of the day, to the viewpoint at around 900 metres of altitude. From there the three granite towers rise above the glacial lagoon at their feet. The return follows the same trail back down to the vehicle, and then on to Puerto Natales.
