The departure from Puerto Natales covers about 24 km to the Cueva del Milodón Natural Monument. The main cave opens into the rock more than 200 metres deep, with vaults up to 30 metres high, where in the late 19th century skin and bones of the Milodón were found, a ground sloth that lived in the area some 15,000 years ago.

A trail runs through the interior and the surroundings of the monument, with views of the valley and the rock formations. The site includes two smaller caves, Cueva del Medio and Cueva Chica, before the return to Puerto Natales.
