Volta à Ilha boat trip around the beaches and Gamboa
Full-day boat trip around Ilha de Tinharé, with stops at the beaches of the Cairu archipelago and at Gamboa. A navigation route with swimming in natural pools subject to the tide.
The day starts with a walk to the pier, as no vehicles run in Morro de São Paulo. From there the boat heads out on the full route around Ilha de Tinharé, skirting pale-sand beaches and green waters.
Depending on the tide, the boat stops at the natural pools of Garapuá, where the water recedes to leave clear pools full of colourful fish, well suited to swimming with mask and snorkel. The route passes the floating bars of Canavieiras, set over the oyster beds, and ends across from Gamboa, on the far side of the channel that separates this fishing village from Morro de São Paulo.
Operational notes
The number and length of the natural-pool stops depend on the day's tide. Morro de São Paulo is a car-free island: hotel pick-up is made on foot to the pier.
