Garapuá natural pools with snorkelling
Boat departure from Morro de São Paulo to the natural pools of Garapuá, on Ilha de Tinharé, with time to swim with mask and snorkel. The pools form at low tide.
The boat leaves from the Morro de São Paulo pier and follows the coast to Garapuá, a fishing village in the south of Ilha de Tinharé. The main stop coincides with the low tide, when the sea pulls back and leaves clear pools over the reefs.
In those natural pools you swim with mask and snorkel among shoals of colourful fish, in chest-high water. How long the stop lasts depends on how long the tide stays low that day.
Operational notes
The natural pools form only at low tide; the departure time is set to the day's tide schedule. Morro de São Paulo is a car-free island: hotel pick-up is made on foot to the pier.
